Five stars for the product. Easy to assemble? No; it takes time; effort and precision. Sturdiness? Well; if you leave it on a shelf it's fine (and lovely); but they are somewhat fragile when assembled. For beginners? Nope; and not for children either. Patience; care; thinking ahead; planning then doing are essentials. I have completed Sam's Study" and "Cathy's Greenhouse" and love them both. Days and weeks of pains-taking assembly of many; many details; lots of them very small. The end product is SO worth it; but take your time. I would recommend purchasing some extra tools and materials (a real high-end craft glue; razor or Exacto knife; needle-nose pliers); but with those and the supplies that come with the kit; you will have all you need. Don't forget lots of patience. For the Sam's Study book library; I used several of my own images and covers of my own books; carefully measured the size of the pictures that came with the kit; photographed my images; and then shrunk them via PhotoShop to the proper size; and had a contact sheet printed at Walgreen's (for $5) and personalized the study. It looks great. Highest recommendation for these products. Have fun and remember: Patience!"

Positives: It's beautiful. The materials are good quality; and everything just looks good.Negatives: This is not for newbies or people who get frustrated. There are so many pieces that have to be put together just so. You can't be off by even the most micro measurement because the next part won't fit. Some of the exterior parts were incredibly difficult to put together and then popped out when I thought I was done with that part. Had to take some pieces apart and redo because they turned out to be slightly off which threw off the next part of the construction. Gave up with 3/4 done making it the only one of MANY miniatures I've not completed.

I've been a huge Lego nerd since my son was a toddler and this is way more fun! I made a few mistakes; but it looks fine for the first kit ever. I'm now working on Dora's Loft; I have decided to up the challenge and change the color palate; and I've carefully spray-painted all the pieces in different colors and plan to make Dora a little more edgy. I'll leave a review with photos in about a month. HA!

Where do I start the directions are limited when you have no idea what you're doing to start there's at least a hundred pieces you have to put together. Steven have you buy your own hole punch for the curtain rods. This is completely do it yourself assembly every single thing. If I really sat down and tried to do this thing a couple hours a day it would probably take me over a month to finish it. And I'm almost 40 years old
